around the country

Well, I'm going to try yet again to be a consistent blogger. So, here are some updates of the past few months. From the start of February to the end of March, Fictionist was on tour. We basically went from LA to New York and back. I guess you could say it was an international tour because we stopped in Toronto, Canada, but I'm not going to call it that. Anyway, let's see if I can list all of our stops: Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Tuscon, Austin, Amarillo, Texarkana, Tulsa, Wichita, Nashville, Carmel Indiana, Chicago, Detroit, Rochester, Toronto, and New York. I think those are all the cities we were in. If I forgot one I'll add it later...
Aside from a few of us getting sick and not being able to sleep very well on the bus, the tour went really well and was a big success for us. It was a success mainly for the fact that we learned a ton about our band and we now have a clearer vision of what must be done. Here are some pics I took while out on the road.

Ok. I think I should get real with this. So here's an update of the events that have been taking place in my life lately. For over the past 6 months, Fictionist has been getting ready to record our next album, Lasting Echo. We finally moved into the studio the beginning of this month and have finished the live recording aspect. Now all that is left to do is record a little bit more vocals, then start mixing. It's getting close to being done and we're all very excited. I think we did it right this time around because we already got most of the album art done, so after recording and mixing we will be able to start printing right away. Speaking of album art, We are very happy about the way it is turning out. We decided to work with Brandi Strickland, an artist out of North Carolina. Brandi is extremely talented, and has really understood our vision and concept for this album. Go here to see some of her work. We are also working with a talented designer by the name of Rob Carmichael. Rob is doing some amazing stuff. Check out some of his work here.
Anyway, that's what's going on on the band front. I'm currently in Sacramento visiting my family for the holidays. It's great to be able to see them. I've had a very enjoyable Christmas this year.

It turns out that I'm not very good at updating this almost non existent blog. New Year's resolution perhaps? We'll see...
